From the movie The Apprentice, Cohn’s 3 rules of winning are:
- Attack, attack, attack
- Admit nothing, deny everything
- Claim victory, never admit defeat
This serves as a perfect test of assholery. 🧘🏛️

This is the beginning of a so-called progressive election nerd wet dream (sic) by Nate Silver.
It’s midday on Nov. 7, two days after the election. And although the networks haven’t called the race yet, things are looking pretty Trumpy.
Reading this made me all anxious and nervous. Because of this, parce que ça, dear Americans, please vote Harris! 🏛️🇺🇸
It takes courage for governments to advance their climate change agenda because it impacts people both economically—likely destroying some jobs in the short term—and personally, as changing habits is a difficult process.
In a slightly longer term, by 2050, for example, failing to make progress will hurt people significantly more.
It is reassuring that in the UK, climate change is a concern across a large section of the political spectrum. It is not surprising that parties genuinely caring for most people have bolder objectives.
It is also not surprising that far-right leaders do not care. They prioritize power over people. The only traits I can think of that would lead someone to deny the need for climate action are selfishness, cowardice and ignorance. Not the best traits.

This interview with Lori Gottlieb by Jon Stewart helps me realize my political anxiety is normal and that I should try to make it productive. But what can I do?
It still feels like not enough.
Also, Jon is hilarious:
My anxiety has never saved me from bears, but it often convinces me I’m not lovable.

Dear Americans, vote Biden. He values science and plans for the future—like phasing out gas cars. Trump does not. 🏛️
